I have been living  and working in Cours Julien area in Marseille since 1987 and decided to write this little guide to help promoting  my neighborhood who has been quite neglected by local tourist authorities. it’s not on the regular visiting tours. Also, I wrote  it in English because Marseille will be in 2013 the European capital of culture  and that this event should attract many visitors from abroad.

Cours Julien area is the place to go if you want to avoid the crowd,  to rest in cafés, to shop for different items than standardized high street brands and to have fun at night, to see and /or meet  Marseille arty and creative people . Cours Julien and surroundings is not a big area,  It’s like a village in the heart of a big city, a mix of squares, small pedestrian streets, old buildings and an amazing amount of street art, painted walls, graffitis, and tags. See also some pictures in this post: Street art and graffitis in Cours Julien – Marseille

In this guide you will find : shops,  restaurants (  selected by friends and my favorites), bars and  nightlife. Notice: nobody has sponsored this guide. a totally personal choice and work.

It’s a 17 pages Pdf format (5 Mb), easy to print or to keep on your laptop, phone, Ipod or Ipad !

Merci d’avoir photographié ma petite maison rouge dans votre guide. Dommage que les volets soient fermés.
